‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Set Photos Hit The Web After Reveal Of New Suit

Spider-Man: Brand New Day officially sees a new day as production kicked off. Sony and Tom Holland were quick to get ahead of potential leaks, posting their own set photos and a first look at Spider-Man’s costume on set, as set photos and footage from Brand New Day’s outdoor filming began landing on the web.

In the photos, Holland’s Spider-Man stands atop a military armoured truck with a stunt wire attached to his suit. Production on Spider-Man: Brand New Day was slated to begin at the start of August, and Holland’s social post has given fans a glimpse at his new superhero suit on set, especially after Sony revealed the suit on Saturday morning in a short teaser video.

In the teaser clip, Holland says to the camera, “We ready?”, while donning a more traditional Spider-Man suit that looks more akin to that of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s previous iterations of the character.

While plot details are still under wraps, there have already been hints at the direction the film will take. On 1 August, it was announced that Mark Ruffalo will appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, reprising his role as Bruce Banner / the Hulk. Ruffalo’s last appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) was the critically controversial 2022 Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

Mark Ruffalo

Holland’s Spider-Man films have historically partnered him with a veteran actor, such as Robert Downey Jr. (Oppenheimer) in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Samuel L. Jackson (Glass) in Spider-Man: Far From Home and Benedict Cumberbatch (The Phoenician Scheme) in Spider-Man: No Way Home, playing key mentor figures in the form of Iron Man, Nick Fury and Doctor Strange, respectively.

It appears that Brand New Day will be no different, likely pairing Holland with Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner, and the cast does look to be quite stacked, with Jon Bernthal (The Accountant 2) also reprising his role as Frank Castle / the Punisher, in the character’s first big-screen appearance in the MCU. On top of that, Michael Mando (Better Call Saul), who previously played Scorpion in Spider-Man: Homecoming, will also be reprising his role in the upcoming film.

Set leaks have also revealed that the armoured truck that Spider-Man is perched atop of, seemingly doing battle with whoever is manning the truck, displays a red demon mark, that resembles the logo of the Inner Demons, a criminal organisation headed by Mister Negative, a well-established foe of the webcrawler who has consistently plagued Spider-Man in the comics and in Insomniac’s Spider-Man video games as well.

Sadie Sink

With no other details apart from Zendaya (Dune: Part Two) and Jacob Batalon (Novocaine) reprising their roles in the upcoming movie, as well as Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) joining the cast, fans will simply have to wait until 2026 to see if Spider-Man, the Hulk and the Punisher will team up (or Human Torch, maybe?).

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is slated to be released on 31 July 2026.
