When Intel first announced its push into the AI space with its Meteor Lake range of CPUs, we didn’t expect the rollout to be this fast. Available from 14 December 2023 onwards, look out for the new Intel Core Ultra 7 H and Intel Core Ultra 7 U series processors at the heart of your favorite laptop brand.
In addition to a dedicated neural processor in the form of the Intel AI Boost, the new processors are aimed at helping users work on, for example, generative imaging without needing to connect to the cloud. For content creators, anyone working on Adobe Premier Pro, Intel claims that they should expect a 40% boost in performance compared to the competition.
It’s all largely early days for most end users and their workflows but the Meteor Lake processors also tout a 10-hour laptop battery life which will be a boon for road warriors.
Here’s an overview of the new Intel Core Ultra Processors H series:

The difference between the H and U processors would be the inclusion of the integrated Intel Arc GPU with the H series processor. With the help of AI, it’s quite amazing to see how the GPU and tech is able to push out additional frames to improve gameplay.
With these Intel Meteor Lake CPUs out the door, we’ll be looking forward to CES 2024 to see how all the different OEMs put the new processors to work.
