Does high-performance gaming on mobile always have to come with a hefty price tag? The release of ZTE’s nubia Neo 5G challenges that conventional notion, designed to pack both performance and affordability into one device at just $299. With its release due on 15 September 2023, it might become the gaming phone that’s the most bang for your buck.
This launch adds to ZTE’s growing list of first-of-its-kind gaming phones that go the extra mile for a better mobile gaming experience, such as RedMagic 7 Pro with an in-built cooling fan, or the RedMagic 8S Pro+ with 24GB RAM. While those models give a premium performance at a higher cost, the nubia Neo 5G is ZTE’s answer to more flexible gaming mobile options, making high-end gaming experiences accessible to budget-conscious gamers without compromise.
While its base price is for the 8GB RAM / 256 GB model, the phone offers upgrades of up to 18GB of RAM, and a choice between the Phantom Black and War-Damaged Yellow variants.
As per its name, this model is equipped with the ability to handle 5G speeds through its gaming processor clocked at 2.7GHz, the Unisoc T820 6nm octa-core 5G chipset. It touts an unparalleled gaming experience with its ability to load higher than standard frame rates, eliminating lag and lengthy loading times that can disrupt gameplay. Â
Of course, the quality of its display has to live up to its processing speeds, which is delivered through its 6.6-inch FHD+ display (2408 x 1080 pixels) alongside a 120Hz refresh rate. Ease and quality of photo-taking are also not neglected, where its 50MP camera and Multi-Frame Noise Reduction technology reduce noise and enable photography even in low light conditions.
Endurance is also ensured for the prolonged, smooth gameplay a gaming phone should have, by hosting a 4,500mAh battery. Swift charging is also ensured through its 22.5W charger, avoiding overheating issues typically associated with simultaneous gaming and charging. A multi-layer heat dissipation structure, complemented by superconducting thermal materials, ensures effective heat dispersion even during drawn-out sessions.
The immersive gameplay experience is then complete with its 3.5 mm headphone jack and DTS: X Ultra support, providing surround sound capabilities and accommodating static, multi-channel, and object-based audio formats.
When launched, the nubia Neo 5G can be found on the ZTE Flagship Store on Shopee, Lazada, and authorized retailers.
