Time to pick up the maracas and dance our butts off! Samba de Amigo: Party-To-Go is coming to Apple Arcade.
The classic SEGA game is a rhythm game first released in arcades in 1999 before moving on to the Dreamcast video game console in 2000. A port for the Wii was released in 2008 and after a 15-year hiatus, the game is making a comeback with Samba de Amigo: Party-To-Go.
Of course, Samba de Amigo: Party-To-Go is not just coming back without any improvements or new features. In fact, there are 5 new features in the game that are exclusive to Apple Arcade and its subscribers.
1. Broader song selection
Samba de Amigo is popularly known for its focus on Latin music. It was initially released with only one song title 25 years ago, but players can now choose over 40 hit songs from various music genres, including some popular songs found on TikTok. Players can also look forward to more music being added on an update basis.
2. Exclusive songs
Having a broad selection of songs alone is not enough. Samba de Amigo: Party-To-Go will feature three exclusive songs that will only be available on Apple Arcade. The three songs are Daddy by PSY, The Edge of Glory by Lady Gaga, and The Walker by Firz and the Tantrums.
3. Story mode
For the first time in the Samba de Amigo series, the Apple Arcade version will have a Story Mode. Players will be able to follow Amigo the monkey as he tries to reclaim music that has vanished from the world. Throughout his journey, Amigo meets new friends and rivals that players will challenge against.
“Amigo was loved a lot all over the world, but there was no story included about this character. We wanted to include this story mode in order to be able to enjoy not only a music game or rhythm game but also have this story aspect in the game as well,” said game designer and producer Shun Nakamura.
4. Make your experience unique
Within Samba de Amigo: Party-To-Go, players can customise their character by changing costumes and adding accessories to give it a personalised touch. You can also customise maracas designs, change the skin colour of your characters and even add special sound effects for the maracas.
5. Play in more than one ways
Most players will likely play Samba de Amigo: Party-To-Go on their iPhone or iPad so what if we told you that there are other ways to play the game too? Instead of just tapping on the screen, users can connect to Bluetooth controllers in order to experience the game in a different way. The possibility is endless as long as you have a compatible Bluetooth controller. Note: You won’t be able to use the controllers as maracas, but you can still use it to play the game.
And there you have it – five new features that are available on Apple Arcade’s Samba de Amigo: Party-To-Go! The game, like many other Apple Arcade games, is free for just a S$6.98 per month Apple Arcade subscription, with a one-month free trial.
With Apple Arcade, subscribers get unlimited access to 200+ games with more added as time goes by. It is also ad-free and subscriptions can be shared with up to five people. Subscribers can also play online and offline across all Apple devices.
Apple Arcade is also free for the first three months when you buy a new Apple device.
Samba de Amigo: Party to Go will be available on Apple Arcade on 29 August.
