The trio joins the film’s leading man, Austin Abrams, who made a name for himself in Cregger’s recent horror hit Weapons as the unhoused drug addict James Anthony. Paul Walter Hauser, who appeared in recent blockbuster movies like The Fantastic Four: First Steps and The Naked Gun, is also set to play a currently undisclosed role.

Constantin Film is producing and co-financing the Resident Evil reboot, which will be directed by Cregger, who also wrote its script alongside Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapter 4). Although the film is set to veer away from the lore of its gaming source material, it’s described as a love letter to Capcom’s survival horror franchise, with an original story centred on a hapless courier tasked with delivering a package to a remote hospital.
