Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel Has More Concurrent Players Than AAA Blockbusters Following Surprise Release

When it comes to the number of concurrent players on Steam, a few familiar titles hog the top spots. DOTA 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive are mainstays and seem to have made the top two spots home. Then, there are the usual suspects, games like Grand Theft Auto V, Apex Legends, and PUBG: Battlegrounds.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, a digital card game, unexpectedly reached third place temporarily in the rankings of numbers of concurrent players. This put it ahead of Monster Hunter Rise, Destiny 2, and God of War.

This comes as a surprise because was released last week on PC and consoles without warning and without a specific date announced beforehand. Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is also a more faithful adaptation of the trading card game compared to the more beginner-oriented Duel Links, which is on mobile.

For those who want to experience some trading card game nostalgia, or to try out one of the most popular trading card games ever, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is definitely one to check out. The number of concurrent players also means that you’re unlikely to run out of opponents.

It’s time to duel!
