In an era where tech prices steadily increase year after year, Xiaomi is a rare oddity in the space. Compared to last year’s model, the new Xiaomi 14 Ultra will cost S$1699 for the entry 16GB RAM / 512GB storage Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 variant. In 2023, a similar model hit the market for a cool S$1,899.
Xiaomi’s partnership with Lecia continues as the new release packs in the Leica Vario-Summilux 1:1.63-2.5/12-120 ASPH. These include a 12mm f/1.8 Leica ultra-wide camera, 23mm f/1.63-f/4.0 Leica 1-inch main camera, a 75mm f/1.8 Leica floating telephoto, a 120mm f/2.5 Leica periscope camera and a 12mm f/1.8 Leica ultra-wide camera. Working in tangent with the lenses, the 1-inch Sony LYT-900 image sensor is the latest to hit the market with its release on December 2023.
Outside of that, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra looks identical to its predecessor with minor upgrades to the hardware. This time around, fans in Singapore won’t have to wait too long for its release. Pre-orders are starting from 9 March til 22 March 2024 and if you’re eyeing this phone, the pre-order kit is worth the rush.
Packing in a leather case, 67mm filter adaptor ring, and photography grip, these are all key components any Leica fan would want to get their hands on. On top of that other gifts include 100GB cloud storage on Google One for 6 months, 2 years of extended warranty, and 3 months of access to Youtube Premium.
With the 2023 model selling out during the pre-order period, Xiaomi is looking to up its inventory in anticipation of the rush. Given the popularity of the phone, we hear that stock levels should be healthier this time round and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s release window in Singapore is one of the earliest globally so if you missed out last year, now’s your chance.
