Xiaomi 15 Ultra Gaming Test: Wuthering Waves, Zenless Zone Zero, Genshin Impact & PUBG Mobile

In a bid to fit as many features as possible into a single package, mobile phones these days come equipped with all the latest technologies on offer, providing better battery life, more responsive screens, and even squeezing in novelty features like professional-grade camera modules. But does the saying “jack of all trades, master of none” ring true in these situations?

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is a true example of a phone that’s built to do it all, combining its impressive hardware specifications, a larger 5600 mAh battery and most notably, a vintage camera aesthetic featuring a Leica-tuned quad camera system with wide, short telephoto, long telephoto, and ultrawide modules.

Despite its apparent photography focus, the phone still packs a punch under the hood, outfitted with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite CPU and Adreno 830 GPU alongside 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, with its 6.73-inch 120Hz LTPO AMOLED screen poised to provide the clarity and smoothness needed for heavyweight mobile gaming.

One other notable feature of the phone’s design is its leather back, which covers more than half of its rear surface. On paper, this seems like a sure-fire way to trap heat but thankfully, due to its excellent thermal management, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra recorded some of the lowest temperatures for certain games like Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero during testing. The in-built Xiaomi Game Booster mode was also a neat touch, providing that extra bump in performance, helping to ensure smooth performance and stability even in more demanding titles.

Check out how well the Xiaomi 15 Ultra handles our gaming gauntlet of Wuthering Waves, Zenless Zone Zero, Genshin Impact and PUBG Mobile in the video above, covering not only framerates and temperature checks, but also if its massive rear camera module affects the gameplay experience.
