The Xiaomi 13 Pro has proven its worth in mobile photography, but it’s hardly the only offering that packs a punch. Armed with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and Qualcomm Adreno 740 CPU, the flagship smartphone also offers a competent alternative to mobile gaming, complete with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
Putting it through its paces with Genshin Impact, Call of Duty: Mobile, PUBG Mobile, and Diablo Immortal yielded great visuals and detailed textures on the 6.73-inch, WQHD+ AMOLED display (3,200 x 1,440 resolution). Topped off with a 120Hz refresh rate and loud speakers, the device makes gaming look and sound good.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro tends to run hot across the board, but it’s an expected side effect for non-gaming builds, which lack the cooling capabilities of its more niche counterparts. Even then, it holds its ground well against the rigours of more GPU-intensive titles like Genshin Impact and Diablo Immortal — an impressive feat by smartphone standards.
Check out the above video for a detailed breakdown of the gaming test, which involves running the games at the highest settings, and temperature-taking before and after the test.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro starts from S$1599 for the 12GB / 256GB model and comes in Ceramic Black, Ceramic White
