Blizzard Distills The RTS Experience On Mobile With Warcraft Arclight Rumble

Warcraft Arclight Rumble Is Blizzard’s Attempt To Distill RTS Magic On Mobile

Following a tease of sorts of a mobile Warcraft title in the pipeline, Blizzard has now unveiled the latest entry in the storied franchise. Warcraft Arclight Rumble is a mobile game that is being termed as a ‘tower offense’ offering, bringing together characters from the Warcraft universe and letting players unleash them across different levels.

If you have been hoping for a real-time strategy affair, Warcraft Arclight Rumble might not be that removed from the genre. Requiring only a finger to play, players will engage in battles on a vertical map, collecting gold, and sending units into combat automatically. There is no micromanagement to worry about, just the dependable balance of unit types being effective/ineffective against others.

With a single-player campaign, Warcraft Arclight Rumble will give players everything they need to create armies that have unique specialisations. It could be an undead force that can replenish themselves from the corpses on the battlefield or poison-spitting spiders, you get the gist. This will unfold over 70-odd levels, together with even more content in the form of daily, weekly, and monthly challenges.

If that is not your cup of tea, the game also features dungeons and raids similar to those found in Hearthstone. The likes of Onyxia and the Molten Core raid have been confirmed, with co-op play possible as well. Otherwise, you can engage friends in PvP, with more details to be firmed up.

As a mobile title, Warcraft Arclight Rumble will feature some monetisation, and it remains to be seen if this will be the sticking point for players looking for a fun time. If you are keen to try it for yourself, the game will head into beta soon.
