Scott, who recently gained acclaim for his performance in Netflix’s Ripley and is expected to be a strong contender this Emmy season, adds to the star power of the cast. His roles in All Of Us Strangers and Fleabag have established him as a formidable actor capable of delivering nuanced performances.

The announcement of Scott’s involvement, first reported by Variety, is a reunion for him and Craig, following their previous collaboration in the James Bond film Spectre. Joining him are Josh O’Connor and Cailee Spaeny (as reported on What’s On Netflix), whose roles in the film have not yet been disclosed but are anticipated to be pivotal suspects. O’Connor has been seen in Challengers and The Crown, and Spaeny recently appeared in Civil War, Priscilla, and is set to star in Alien: Romulus, showcasing their rise to fame.

The Knives Out series has become well-known for its intricate plots and ensemble casts. In the original film, Blanc solved the murder of a wealthy novelist, while the sequel, Glass Onion, saw him unravelling deceptions on a Greek island owned by a tech mogul. The details of the plot for Wake Up Dead Man remain tightly under wraps.

Johnson’s return to the director’s chair promises another engaging whodunit, and with the setting of the title, some fans speculate that the plot may draw thematic inspiration from the U2 song ‘Wake Up Dead Man’. As the cast for Wake Up Dead Man continues to grow, anticipation builds for what is expected to be another compelling addition to the Knives Out saga, blending mystery with the sharp, witty dialogue that fans have come to expect.

Wake Up Dead Man will be released on Netflix sometime in 2025.
