US$300 Million Hit ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ Is Blumhouse’s Highest Grossing Film

While it may not be that recognisable to the mainstream film audience, folks who are into both horror and gaming are well aware of how popular the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise is. Having been adapted as a live-action film, it has surpassed plenty of expectations both at the box office and on streaming platforms. Now, it is officially Blumhouse’s Productions most successful project yet.

With just a modest budget behind it, this is a staggering success across the board, even with the immense popularity of the games. Having Scott Cawthon, the creator of the 2014 point-and-click survival game that inspired the movie, being part of the process is also helpful, especially when it comes to the script for Five Nights at Freddy’s.

“It’s so fun when it works. Thank you all so much for being patient with us on [Five Nights at Freddy’s]. We wanted to get it just right for the fans, and it’s official. Biggest Blumhouse opening movie of all time,” Blum previously said when the film debuted.

This reveal came via Blumhouse founder Jason Blum, who took to X/Twitter to share the good news. The film has outperformed M. Night Shyamalan’s Split, reaching a global total of US$283,107,340 compared to Split’s global total of US$278,454,427.
