Unboxing & Building The LEGO Chinese Festivals Story of Nian 80106

Just in time for the Lunar New Year, LEGO has rolled out a new traditional Chinese Festivals “Story of Nian” set that should keep the kids entertained. This 1,067-piece set features a snowy Northern China-style residence decked out with traditional Chinese decorations such as fireworks, firecrackers, lanterns and “Chun Lian” banners.

The set even comes with 6 minifigures, plus a bonus snowman. There’s a grandpa and grandma figure, two grandkids, one man with messenger bag (probably the son) and another man dressed in an ox costume to mark the Year of the Ox. The varied and unique shirt prints on each of the minifigures’ are what makes the set extra special and festive.

The snow covered rooftops and Lunar New Year decorations of the residence truly captures the festive spirit perfectly.

And of course, there is the equally detailed and posable Nian creature. Its jaw can open/close and it even has a Chinese lantern attached to its tail.

Upon completion, there’s even plenty of spare LEGO pieces to further customise the set or simply add them to your ever-growing stash of loose bricks.

The LEGO Chinese Festivals Story of Nian (80106) is out now and retailing at S$109.90 on Shopee, Lazada and LEGO Certified Stores.
