Ultraman Taro Joins The Battle In Netflix’s Teaser For Ultraman Season 2

It has been a year since Netflix first announced plans for the second season of their 3D CG adaptation of the popular Ultraman franchise. Fans have been eagerly awaiting to see the continuation of Shinjiro’s adventures after he picked up the mantle of the hero from his father. As of yesterday, the streaming giant has finally dropped the teaser for the Ultraman Season 2 .

From season one of the anime series, the 3D CG Ultraman was notably a more mature and grittier take on the tokusatsu franchise, with more street-level fights and new aliens invading earth. The story also follows the son of the original Ultraman, Shinjiro Hayata on his journey to becoming a hero worthy of the title.

The new season will once again be produced by Production I.G. with Ryohei Kimura reprising his role as Shinjiro. Filled with flashy and high-energy fight sequences, the series was an instant hit with fans despite its sometimes questionable character animation and jarring frame drops at certain points of the show.

Ultraman Taro (a.k.a Ultraman No. 6) will also be making his debut in this upcoming season. The character will be voiced by fan-favourite voice actor, Tatsuhisa Suzuki (Free!, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, The Seven Deadly Sins). Unfortunately, we. have yet to see giant-sized alien fights which made the original series so iconic.

Netflix has yet to announce a release date for Ultraman Season 2 but hopefully, we will get to see some Ultra-sized Ultraman action in the new season soon!
