The days of picking up that hard-to-get, exclusive sneaker from overseas retailers, ordering it online and getting it sent to Singapore is a thing of the past, now that one of the best retailers offering some of the hardest to find footwear has opened in town.
UK sports fashion retailer has opened its flagship JD Sports store at ION Orchard, following the recent launch of its online store here (www.jdsports.com.sg). This is the second store JD Sports has in Singapore, following the opening of its 2,900 square feet store at Jurong Point in May.
Aside from stocking a variety of footwear and apparel, including house brands Supply & Demand, and Pink Soda Sport, it is bringing in one of the brand’s greatest strengths – exclusive limited editions and colour variants of sneakers from the likes of Nike, Adidas, Puma and Converse, not available anywhere else in the Republic.
Located at B4, right opposite Muji, the 7,136 square feet store offers select brands and items available only in Singapore, Malaysia and Australia, including a limited edition black New Era cap with the iconic Marina Bay skyline embroidered on the underside of the visor.
And when it comes to footwear, who better to launch it than the yellow-boots-wearing local icon Phua Chu Kang, who graced the opening with his usual beng-ness. It’s only once in a lifetime where the King of Beng meets the Undisputed King of Trainers.
Hsals needs more space in his house, and more money in his bank account to pay for all the toys, collectibles and other geek related items that companies are churning out. Free-time? Girlfriend? Who’s got time for those?
