Ace Combat 7 Top Gun DLC

‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Crossover DLC Is Coming To ‘Ace Combat 7’

Top Gun: Maverick, the long-awaited sequel to the 1986 Top Gun starring Tom Cruise, is premiering on 26 May 2022. The dogfighting world of Top Gun: Maverick has also made its way into a video game, namely Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, in the form of a downloadable content (DLC).

This is a fitting collaboration, as both series are about dogfighting, and being able to imagine oneself as Lt. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) in the cockpit taking to the skies while shooting down enemy planes is quite the exciting idea.

There is no release date or details announced for the DLC yet, though based on past DLCs for the game, it is fair to say that the planes featured in the movie will likely make their way to the game in this upcoming DLC.

Interestingly, the developer of the Ace Combat franchise, Project ACES, deleted a tweet announcing the collaboration, replacing it with a plain tweet that says in Japanese “We will inform you about the new DLC information again”. Hopefully, more details about the crossover will surface soon, and it’d make for a great excuse to pick up the controller and play the PlayStation 4 title once again.
