This Re-creation Of Hokusai’s ‘Great Wave’ Into 50,000 LEGO Bricks Is A Sight To Behold

One of the most recognizable works of art, The Great Wave off Kanagawa, or The Great Wave or simply The Wave, has been remixed in many forms in pop culture many times over.

Hence, it comes as no surprise that someone has taken on the challenge to add LEGO into the mix.

Built with over 50,000 LEGO bricks, Jumpei Mitsui, Japan’s youngest LEGO Certified Professional, spent 400 hours building the sculpture.

With LEGO, we do have a chance to see the iconic artwork not only in a 2D plane but in 3D as well.

Measuring in at 4 feet x 5 feet, it can be seen physically at the Hankyu Brick Museum in Osaka, Japan.

If only we could travel to check out this amazing piece of work!
