[UPDATE: 16 SEP] We have received feedback that Amazon has removed and added this item back several times in the last 72 hours, due to overwhelming orders. If you cannot add this item to your cart, please try again. We have noticed that restocking is sporadic, and there is no definitive time that Amazon will list the product once it becomes unavailable.

Ever since its reveal on Force Friday, the Air Hogs Remote Control Ultimate Millennium Falcon Quad drone has been on every Star Wars geek’s wishlist. The sad news is, it wasn’t available in Singapore, and stocks for it were snapped up almost immediately on Amazon.com. When it was in stock, it retailed at US$109.99, and it didn’t ship to Singapore.

So here’s the good news, Amazon has put up a new listing, and it’s finally going for just US$49.99! That’s right, more than 50% off! And best of all, it even qualifies for FREE shipping to Singapore for orders above US$125! So what’s the catch? It seems it won’t come in the original Hasbro packaging, but instead it will come in Amazon’s “easy-to-open packaging“.

So instead of this:

You’ll be getting something like this, which Amazon claims to be “Same Product, Better Packaging”:

Sounds fine by me, especially if you’re looking to acquire it for playing around. But if you’re the kind of geek who is buying it as a collectible to keep sealed in the original packaging, then this is probably not for you. But for this price, how can you resist? I couldn’t.

Remember, you heard it here first, now go order it before it disappears from the listing!

Here’s a video of the toy’s reveal at the recent Force Friday event:
