‘Tekken 8’ Debuts New, Sophisticated French Fighter Victor Chevalier

With the hotly-anticipated Tekken 8 around the corner, Bandai Namco just dropped a new gameplay trailer for its latest addition to its expanding roster – Victor Chevalier.

Hailing from France, this sleek gentleman is decked in a silver three-piece suit matching his George Clooney-esque locks, finishing the look off with a classy pair of aviator sunglasses.

The second all-new fighter after Azucena’s reveal at EVO 2023, it comes fresh off another trailer announcing the return of fan-favourites to the series, namely Devil Jin, Zafina, Lee Chaolan, Alisa Bosconovitch and Panda.

Fighting aboard a yacht along the River Seine, with the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop, the Frenchman sports an exciting arsenal of weapons and tools. A pistol that allows him to shoot projectiles, a laser sword for long-range engagements, and a pair of daggers to deliver deft and short blows. His fighting style is very much like returning veteran Raven, but with weapons instead of just fists.

Keeping the character true to its roots, Chevalier is voiced by legendary French actor Vincent Cassel, famous for his work in Black Swan, Ocean’s Twelve, and Westworld. As such, Chevalier’s reveal means that 31 out of 32 from the game’s launch roster have now been showcased, with the final fighter set to be revealed on 12 November.

Tekken 8 is set to be released on 26 January 2024, for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
