Kids who grew up in the 1980s will be more than familiar with ThunderCats, a series about a group of cat-like humanoid aliens from a planet called Third Earth. While nowhere as popular as He Man and the Masters of the Universe, ThunderCats still developed a large following of their own, allowing it to withstand the test of time, till today.Â

In 2016, Mattel released a series of ThunderCats Ultimate action figures though sadly, Mattel’s online subscription business shuttered its doors before it could release the entirety of Thundercat’s cast. Since then, fans have been clamouring for the return of Thundercats Ultimate, and now, thanks to Super 7, their prayers have finally been answered.Â
That’s right, Super 7 will be re-releasing the ThunderCats Ultimate line of 7-inch figurines, this time with upgraded accessories for each character released. Round one will see the launch of Lion-O, Panthro, Jackalman, and Mumm-Ra.Â
The re-released Lion-O will come with a new bonus head plate, as well as four different versions of his Claw Shield. Mumm-Ra will come with an extra head sculpt, as well as both cloth and plastic cloaks to wear. Meanwhile, both Panthra and Jackalman will also come with a selection of new weapons as well as bonus head sculpts that were not included in the 2016 release.

These Ultimates will be available for preorder individually on Super 7’s website, and will cost US$45 each. The action figures will only ship out in spring 2020, so fans will have to be patient if they wish to get their hands on the Ultimates action figures.
While it was understandable why Mattel chose to spread out the release of Thundercats’ main characters, hopefully, we will not have to wait all that long for Super 7 to announce their next line-up of ThunderCats Ultimate action figures.
