The Stranger Things 5 trailer has just hit the Internet, and fans should grab their Walkmans to blast their favourite songs because Vecna is coming.
The Duffer Brothers, co-creators and directors of the Netflix series, are really turning up the decibels for this season, which picks up after Vecna left Max in a coma and spread the Upside Down into the fictional rural town of Hawkins, Indiana. The flames of battle are fanned, and the trailer draws to an explosive end as Vecna arrives to wage war against our protagonist gang.
The official synopsis of Stranger Things 5 reads, “Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding.
“As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”
The wildly popular show was revealed by Netflix in May to have a three-part final season, with the first part launching on 26 November, the second part on Christmas Day and the series finale on New Year’s Eve. Each part will drop at 8AM SGT (5PM PT).

The main cast, comprising Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Jim Hopper, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Sadie Sink Max Mayfield, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, Maya Hawke as Robin Buckley, and Jamie Campbell Bower as Vecna, will all be reprising their roles.
Nell Fisher will be joining the cast as Holly Wheeler, alongside Jake Connelly as Derek Turnbrow and Alex Breaux as Lt. Akers. Terminator star Linda Hamilton is also joining the cast in a undisclosed role.
Stranger Things 5 debuts on Netflix 26 November 2025. Until then, fans better prepare themselves, for the beginning of the end may be arriving with the arrival of Vecna.
