Star Wars’ Manny Jacinto’s Personal Life Goal Is To Make Season 2 Of ‘The Acolyte’

Manny Jacinto, star of The Acolyte, has revealed his new personal life goal – making Season 2 of the recently canceled Star Wars series.

In a video shared by Digital LA, Jacinto was asked during the Atlanta Dragon Con “something he wanted to make sure he did before leaving this world”, to which he replied, “Season 2 of The Acolyte, to resounding cheers from the audience.

The Acolyte, a Disney+ Star Wars series, premiered on 4 June 2024 to strong numbers, accumulating 4.8M views on its first day making it the biggest series premiere on the platform. Within its premiere week, the series made it onto Nielsen’s Top 10 originals chart at number 7 with more than 488 million minutes viewed.

Its momentum was swiftly lost, however, as it dropped out of the Top 10 during its third week, returning to number 10 only after the release of its season finale. Even so, the episode only managed to secure a total of 335 million minutes viewed, the lowest of any Star Wars series finale.

This poor performance eventually led to news of the series cancellation in August 2024, a mere month after its final episode. The news devastated fans of the series, who were left with more questions than answers after the season’s cliffhanger ending.

Clearly, Jacinto is not alone in his support for the continuation of the series, as fans of the acolyte have already sparked multiple social movements such as “#SaveTheAcolyte” on X/Twitter and the Change.org petition which surpassed 50,000 signatures within a week, but it all remains to be seen if their effort would have any effect on the fate of the series. After all, the fans might be The Acolyte‘s only hope.
