Star Trek: Picard’s Latest Trailer Reunites Deanna Troi And Will Riker With Their Captain

We finally get a closer look at the events of the upcoming Star Trek: Picard, courtesy of Sir Patrick Stewart himself who helped launch the latest trailer on the upcoming web television series at the New York Comic-Con.

If its name has not clued you in yet, the series will focus on Jean-Luc Picard, arguably one of the more iconic characters from the Star Trek universe and chronicles the events after Star Trek: The Next Generation.

We will catch up with Picard years after he is done being captain of the Enterprise-D, where he is now living out the rest of his life on his family’s vineyard in France. Despite the scenic vineyard he is staying in, it seems the past still haunts Picard and as he succinctly puts it “One is never safe from the past.”

When Picard is alerted to the presence of a new threat, he tries to get help from the Starfleet only to be rebuffed, and so, he decides to deal with it in his own way.

The trailer reintroduces us to several familiar faces, such as Will Riker (Jonathan Frakes) and Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis) who Picard turn to for advice, while also showing us a number of new faces to look forward to in the series, including Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd, Alison Pill, Harry Treadaway, and Evan Evagora.

Star Trek: Picard will debut on January 23, 2020.
