Paramount+ has unveiled a glimpse of the highly anticipated fifth and final season of Star Trek: Discovery, set to debut in April 2024.
The sneak peek was first presented by series lead Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays Capt. Michael Burnham, and showrunner Michelle Paradise at the Paramount+ panel during CCXP in São Paulo, Brazil. The footage introduces a formidable, cloaking alien creature, setting the stage for intense encounters in the show’s concluding season.
Star Trek: Discovery creators also shared the new clip on Instagram: “Burnham and Book are back in action against an alien threat in a new clip from #StarTrekDiscovery’s final season, coming to @ParamountPlus April 2024!”
The official logline reads:
“Season 5 will find Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery uncovering a mystery that will send them on an epic adventure across the galaxy to find an ancient power whose very existence has been deliberately hidden for centuries. But there are others on the hunt as well … dangerous foes who are desperate to claim the prize for themselves and will stop at nothing to get it.”
Star Trek: Discovery boasts a stellar cast, including Sonequa Martin-Green as Capt. Michael Burnham, David Ajala as Cleveland “Book” Booker, Doug Jones as Saru, Anthony Rapp as Paul Stamets, Mary Wiseman as Sylvia Tilly, Wilson Cruz as Dr. Hugh Culber, Blu del Barrio as Adira, and Callum Keith Rennie as Rayner.
