Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 First 2 Minutes Revealed

After waiting for the newest season of Star Trek: Discovery for so long, it’s no surprise that many fans wish to skip forward in time to its release. Now, get a glimpse into the future with the debut of the opening scene for Star Trek: Discovery Season 3.

The previous season left us with a cliffhanger with Commander Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and crew being tossed into a wormhole. In the new opener, we see the commander crash-landing (literally) into the new character Cleveland “Book” Booker (David Ajala, Supergirl) 930 years in the future. Both of them take a dive onto an unknown planet and the adventure continues from there. Discovery season 3 will have fans navigate the stars with both familiar and new faces alike.

Also from the New York Comic-Con panel, yesterday is the announcement that Kate Mulgrew will return as Captain Kathryn Janeway in new Trek series, Star Trek: Prodigy. Michelle Paradise, co-executive producer of Discovery stated that the writers wanted to further explore new corners of the Trek universe with the series.

[Discovery season 3] takes us beyond canon, far beyond some stories in Enterprise. This takes us beyond that.”

Martin-Green also shares her thoughts on the new season.

We land in 3188. It’s all about the crew, getting together and figuring out where we are, what’s happened, how are we going to navigate where we are. It’s so simple but so profound: Where are we? Who are we going to be?”

We look forward to the release of Star Trek: Discovery season 3 which premieres on 15 October 2020 on CBS All Access in the US and on 16 October on Netflix worldwide.
