Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra Redefines the Craft of Selfie Photography

There are phones for general usage, and then there are the ones specially catered for a particular function. Where the former encourages versatility, the latter improves upon past capabilities, bringing updated features to a group of niche audiences.

In the age of mobile photography, that means having a camera-focused brand is hardly the uncommon sight. The epitome of convenience and high-quality standard, these models are popular among the community, and understandably so – especially with their enhanced features for both landscape and portrait photography.

With the Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra, those who are in the line of selfie photography will also be privy to the same enriching, enhanced experience.

Touted as the “ultimate ‘dual selfie’ camera smartphone”, it was first announced at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2018, with specifications specially engineered for selfies. Featuring a 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilisation, it also comes armed with another 8MP, 120-degree super wide-angle front camera, and the Smart Selfie Flash function.

Simply put, that means clearer shots in low-light environments, and more space to fit in friends and surroundings for a wefie opportunity. The entire visual experience is further improved with a 23MP rear camera module, where the max ISO rests at 12800 sensitivity, in addition to 4K movie recording, and 120fps slow motion video capture.

Outside of camera capabilities, the phone boasts a 6-inch full-HD display, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, and 3,580-mAh battery to boot. A wider range of colour gamut, smoother performance, and longer-lasting battery life – it seems the Xperia XA2 Ultra is more than just a selfie phone, and early reviews on the Internet have echoed the sentiment.

As an assurance to its quality in today’s age of modern mobile technology, it allows for quick charging as well, cramming hours of power into just minutes of charging. While a handy feature, the Quick Charger UCH12W is needed, so users without it will have to make do with its normal charging speed.

Interested parties may purchase Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra when it releases on February 26, 2018 from the Sony Store, Sony Centre, Lazada Singapore, and authorised retail partners. Retailing at a mid-range price of S$598, the phone will be coming to Singapore in three contemporary colours: black, blue, and gold, with an optional accessory choice of a Style Cover Stand in either black or grey.
