Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 7, its slimmest and lightest Z Fold to date, packed with the same flagship-level 200MP Ultra camera system as the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Together with the new One UI 8, it integrates AI more than ever into a foldable form factor. The new device is set to go on sale on 1 August, at a special Samsung Unpacked event in Brooklyn, New York, that Geek Culture attended. Pre-orders start from 9 July for customers in Singapore. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 was also unveiled during the event.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 weighs in at just 215g, which makes it even lighter than the S25 Ultra which weighs 218g. It measures 8.9mm thick when folded and 4.2mm thick when unfolded. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 was 12.1mm folded and 5.6mm unfolded. The main display is 11% larger than the previous generation, with an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display. As for the cover display, it’s a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a new 21.9 wider aspect ratio. Both displays have up to 2,600 nits of peak brightness so it stays visible even under direct sunlight.
Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is of course powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy which is uniquely customised for Galaxy devices and makes on-device AI processing tasks such as real-time language translation and Generative Edits. It delivers a performance boost of 41% in NPU, 38% in CPU, and 26% in GPU compared to the previous generation.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 introduces the series’ first 200MP wide-angle camera, capturing four times more detail and producing images that are 44% brighter than its predecessor. Its 10MP front-facing camera on the main display offers an expanded frame, perfect for group selfies and immersive shots when unfolded. Night Video now uses intelligent motion detection to distinguish moving subjects from static backgrounds, minimizing noise in low-light scenes. With the addition of 10-bit HDR, the Z Fold 7 delivers videos with richer colours, deeper contrast, and remarkably lifelike realism at any time of day.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be available for purchase in Singapore from 1 August 2025 at local telco operators (M1, Singtel and StarHub), Samsung Online Store, Samsung Shop App, Samsung Experience Stores, Samsung Official Store in Lazada, Shopee, KrisShop, iShopChangi, major consumer electronics & IT stores, and other selected channels including ZYM Mobile.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be available in Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Jetblack and Mint (online exclusive), retailing at S$2,698 (12GB + 256GB), S$2,878 (12GB + 512GB) and S$3,328 (16GB + 1TB).
