Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Shoots For The Stars With Jaw-Dropping 200MP Camera

Samsung’s latest attempt to dominate the Android smartphone market has made its debut in the form of the Samsung Galaxy S23 line-up, the Korean tech giant’s flagship offerings for 2023. 

Announced at the company’s Samsung Unpacked event, the latest iteration of its Galaxy S series will be available in three different models – the 6.1-inch Samsung Galaxy S23, the 6.6-inch Samsung Galaxy S23+, and the top-of-the-line Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, which sports a new 200MP smartphone camera. 

For the first time, Samsung will offer consistent hardware across markets, as it has ditched its own Exynos processor, and will power the S23 series with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Processor.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 comes with a 6.1-inch 120Hz Full HDR10+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, with a 12MP selfie camera, 50MP main camera, 12MP Ultra Wide Angle and 10MP Telephoto lens as part of a triple-camera array. The S23 is powered by a 3,900mAh battery and will come in four colours – Phantom Black, Green, Cream and Lavender and is priced at S$1,188 for the 256GB model and S$1,298 for the 512GB model. The Galaxy S23 is also available in online exclusive colours Graphite and Lime Green.

The Samsung Galaxy S23+, on the other hand, comes with a larger 6.6-inch display and a longer-lasting 4,700 mAh battery. Just like the S23, the S23+ will feature the same processor, the same triple camera array and the same colour options. However, it is priced slightly higher than the S23 at S$1,528 for the 256GB model and S$1,698 for the 512GB model.

Last, but definitely not least, is the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The Ultra get its name from its whopping 6.8-inch 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2x display and powerful 5,000 mAh battery. Also running on the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, the bad boy of the new lineup features upgraded cameras – a 200MP main camera, 12MP Selfie Camera, 12MP Ultra Wide Angle, as well as two 10MP Telephoto lenses. 

It goes without saying that the upgraded 200MP main camera is the biggest change from the S22 Ultra to the S23 Ultra, now further enhanced with the brand’s new Advanced Vision Booster tech that automatically adjusts and enhances colours and contrast in the photos. Noise Reduction Technology has also been added so that night portraits and videos appear more detailed and less grainy.

Most excitingly, the new Samsung Galaxy S23 series now has Astro Hyperlapse mode with 300x zoom so users can shoot the stars and take pictures of the galaxy, with their Galaxy phones. 

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will be available with 256GB, 512GB and 1TB of storage for S$1,828, S$2,098 and S$2,458 respectively. The S23 Ultra will also come in four colours: Phantom black, Green, Cream and Lavender. Online exclusive colours are: Graphite, Lime, Sky Blue and Red.

All three models in the Samsung Galaxy S23 Series will be available in Singapore from 17 February 2023 on Samsung’s official Shopee and Lazada store, and their main online store.
