Rockstar Marks December For Debut Trailer Of ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’

It has been 10 long years since there was a new Grand Theft Auto game, but this year, we will finally get some news about the next entry of the beloved franchise. Taking to the Rockstar Newswire, Rockstar Games has confirmed that it will be showing off the reveal trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI in December.

With next month marking the 25th anniversary of the studio, it seems like the perfect time to debut the next entry. As such, the blog post by Sam Houser stated that the team is “very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you.”

While any news about GTA VI will be enough to dominate the headlines for days and weeks, the fact is that The Game Awards will be taking place on 7 December as well, which could be the very stage on which this trailer will be shown off. Rockstar has not yet confirmed whether it will be attending the show, but with the growing importance of this year-end event, it could very well be the best arrangement.

“Thanks to the incredible support of our players worldwide, we have had the opportunity to create games we are truly passionate about — without you, none of this would be possible, and we are so grateful to all of you for sharing this journey with us,” Rockstar added.

The existence of Grand Theft Auto VI has been rumoured for a very long time, but the studio has always kept its silence, instead focusing work on developing more content for the successful online component of GTA V. At the very least, now we know that some work has already been done on the game, and Rockstar is ready to let us have a peek.

As for a release window, the speculation has always centred around some time between April 2024 and March 2025. This is due to the fact that publisher Take-Two Interactive has projected a big boost in financial gains for that fiscal year, which GTA VI will most certainly contribute to if it came out then.
