‘Return to Silent Hill’ Movie Gives Sneak Peek Of Live-Action James Sunderland, Pyramid Head & More

Silent Hill fans are living their best life — sort of, anyway. During Silent Hill Transmission livestream on 31 May, Konami revealed a special behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming Return to Silent Hill movie, featuring on-set footage narrated by director Christophe Gans.

According to the filmmaker, it will stay faithful to the story of the second game in the series, following James Sunderland (Jeremy Irvine, War Horse) on his search for his lost love, Mary (Hannah Emily Anderson, Jigsaw), in the titular town. Upon arrival, the character is forced to fend off various terrifying creatures, as he comes to learn of the town’s true nature. “It’s become something like hell,” Gans says in the video.

The sneak peek showcases an extended look at James, alongside familiar sights like murderous nurse entities and the iconic Pyramid Head. More notably, each of these monsters is played by a dancer, with Gans explaining that their flexibility lends a unsettling, inhuman quality to natural movement.
