Redmagic 9 Pro Gaming Test — Honkai: Star Rail, Genshin Impact, COD: Mobile & PUBG

As mobile gaming continues to grow out of a niche space, Redmagic has established a strong foothold in the market with its distinct design language, fast performance, and a slate of nifty, dedicated gaming features. The Redmagic 9 Pro looks to raise the bar even more, cutting a stylish, sophisticated figure in its new white-skinned look.

Armed with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the device touts a 32 percent and 43 percent increase in CPU and GPU performance, respectively. This is paired with 16GB of RAM, up to 512GB storage, and the company’s proprietary Red Core 2 Pro dedicated gaming chip, allowing for some additional horsepower.

The 6.8-inch display, meanwhile, promises an FHD+ resolution (2,480 x 1,116), a 120Hz refresh rate, and an overall touch sample rate of 960Hz. Courtesy of a powerful 6,500mAh dual-cell battery, it’s able to last up to 56 hours, ensuring a long-lasting viewing experience.

All of that culminates into an impressive show of its prowess in the real world. Regardless of the game, the Redmagic 9 Pro proves capable of handling everything thrown at it. Smooth, quick gameplay in Call of Duty: Mobile and PUBG Mobile is a given, but the exceptional flair also carried over to more demanding titles like Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail.

Across the board, the phone ran extremely well, with its upgraded cooling system keeping things cool — even as the action kicks into high gear on the screen. Check out the video above for a detailed breakdown of the gaming test, including temperature checks, individual findings for each title, and concluding thoughts.
