Rockstar’s Wild West hit Red Dead Redemption is finally heading to PC this October, 14 years after its original Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 launch in 2010.

Double Eleven, the team behind 2023’s PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch Red Dead Redemption ports, will again take the reins for this PC port, featuring various enhancements such as native 4k resolution, up to 144Hz refresh rates, HDR10 support, keyboard and mouse functionality, both Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9) support, as well as Nvidia DLSS 3.7 and FSR 3.0 upscaling.
Available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Rockstar Store, the PC launch will include both the base game and its Undead Nightmare story expansion. Similar to last year’s console ports, any multiplayer content won’t be included.
The existence of the upcoming PC port was previously hinted at via a leak by Sony, along with a data mine of Rockstar Game’s website, so its release is expected but appreciated nonetheless. This stems from Rockstar’s history of placing its PC releases on the backseat, with 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2, 2013’s Grand Theft Auto V, and the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI all originally released without a PC counterpart.
With Rockstar seemingly resuming focus on the Red Dead Redemption series, here’s hoping for the much-requested PS5 version of Red Dead Redemption 2 in the near future.
Red Dead Redemption will launch on 29 October 2024 on PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Rockstar Store.
