Fans of the iconic 1993 point-and-click adventure game Myst will be stoked to know that the remastered version will be coming to the Nintendo Switch very soon. And by very soon, we mean in just a week from now, at the date of writing.
realMyst: Masterpiece Edition by Cyan Inc. will be launching digitally on the Nintendo eShop on 21 May. Pre-orders are now available on the North American eShop for US$15.99.

The game first launched in 2014 on Steam and GOG, and was a real treat for fans of the 1993 original. While it is “not your father’s Myst“, it retains a ton of the point-and-click goodness that the original was so beloved for, with a much more expanded world, coated with updated realtime 3D graphics. It’s essentially VR without the goggles, and now players can enjoy it on the Switch.
But speaking of Myst itself, it looks as though the long-gestating TV series based on the game may finally see the light of day, as X-Men: First Class writer Ashley Edward Miller was attached to develop the story and serve as showrunner.
Marion has a serious RPG addiction. Sometimes it bleeds into real life; he forgets to sleep because he thinks he has a Witcher’s body clock. Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
