POCO M3 Pro 5G Packs Premium Features In Entry-Level Smartphone

In the saturated market that is the smartphone scene, there’s always competition to win over the preferences of the user. While others seek to dominate the premium landscape, POCO is sticking to what it’s familiar with by upgrading its entry-level smartphone line-up to boast 5G technology.

The result is presented in the form of the POCO M3 Pro 5G, which comes with upgraded features from the its POCO M3 predecessor. In a first for the company, the smartphone will be running on an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor, and feature a refresh rate of 90Hz with DynamicSwitch support that automatically switches between 30Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz, and 90Hz to adapt to various content. Under the hood, it operates on MIUI 12 based on Android 11, and gives the option of 64GB storage space with 4GB RAM or 128GB with 6GB RAM.

Display-wise, the model offers a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD panel for better visuals and a smoother entertainment experience. The updated Reading Mode 3.0, meanwhile, reduces eye strain with a paper texture option, with the dual ambient sensors on both the front and rear bringing 360-degree light detection for natural brightness adjustment.

Embracing the trending popularity of mobile photography, the M3 Pro 5G has improved its camera capabilities via a triple lens set-up that boasts a 48MP main camera, a 2MP macro camera, and an 8MP front camera. Several standard functions, such as Night Mode, time-lapse, Timed Burst, and Slow Motion, have also been added.

Other notable upgrades and features include a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, the addition of NFC, and a lighter 190g chassis. The same three variants from the POCO M3 will be carried over as well, but with a fresh design in tow.
