Filled with even more textures to allow players to feel through the haptics, the new Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller is a work of art. Complete with Astro Bot’s robotic digital eyes on touchpad, the handles and buttons feature Astro Bot’s signature blue accent.
For anyone who has used the DualSense of present-day PlayStation 5 games, the haptics for each title might be a hit-and-miss between true gaming immersion and gimmick. But that’s where the upcoming Astro Bot title is looking to address.
Based on what we’ve seen so far, this approach seems more akin to Nintendo than PlayStation themselves as players can feel the thruster vibrating in sync with the animation, creating a highly dynamic and immersive experience. Each new power-up receives this special treatment, allowing players to sense different effects through their fingertips.
Preorders for the Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller start on 9 August 2024 for US$79.99 / S$114 and will be set for launch on 6 September 2024 in line with the game’s release.
