Permadeath Is The Way Of Life In ‘Diablo IV’ Hardcore PvP Experience

For players that have grown to love the gameplay mechanics of the Diablo series, there are several pillars that are consistent from one game to another. Starting from Diablo II, Hardcore mode has been a mainstay that is meant for only the most invested players, and it will be back in the upcoming Diablo IV.

However, it is not just the many enemies of Sanctuary that you will have to worry about if you are planning to engage in Hardcore mode enjoyment. According to Blizzard Community Director, Adam Fletcher, for Hardcore players who just so happen to wander into the Fields of Hatred, death in the Diablo IV PvP zone will elicit the same result – permadeath.

There will be no chances given, even if PvP is an entirely optional experience. Then again, for players willing to take on the Hardcore challenge in Diablo IV, PvP will likely be the pinnacle of the endeavour. The stakes will definitely be higher, and in return, the glory to be had will be immortal.

Getting 10 PvP kills in Hardcore mode in Diablo IV will also net players the Fearless Combatant achievement, which will serve as the biggest indicator of your commitment to the cause and how much better you are at the game than everyone else.

Since Diablo IV will be an open-world experience, accidentally stepping into the Fields of Hatred can be a familiar occurrence. Be sure to be on the look out if you are playing in Hardcore mode, so that the danger comes only from the enemies sent by Lilith, and not other scheming players in Diablo IV.

In related news, there will be one more Diablo IV server testing period happening from 12 to 14 May, in which Blizzard hopes to test its server durability. Data and any progress made in this final beta won’t carry over to the final game.
