The anime quickly rose to fame when it released on Netflix in 2023, with idol unit YOASOBI performing the theme song ‘Idol’, winning awards and a second season coming this year. Twins Aqua and Ruby, meanwhile, stole the hearts of viewers, with fans attempting to mimic their lightstick waving skills.

Nanoka Hara (Voice of Sin) will play Kana, and Mizuki Kayashima (Guru no Musume) will play Akane. Many of the cast members are also idols and musicians, making the casting more authentic.

The Oshi No Ko live-action movie and TV show will air in winter 2024.
