Oscar Isaac is set to make an official appearance at Star Wars Celebration 2025, fueling speculation about a potential return as Poe Dameron. The event, scheduled to take place in Tokyo from 18 to 20 April, recently confirmed his attendance on its official Instagram page.
This marks the first time Isaac will participate in autograph signings and photo ops at the event, despite previously attending to promote the Star Wars sequel trilogy. His involvement has led to speculation that Lucasfilm might be planning a panel to commemorate the ten-year anniversary of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. For months, rumours have suggested that Star Wars Celebration 2025 would include such a panel, and Isaac’s presence could be an indication that those predictions are correct.

The sequel trilogy concluded in 2019 with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, a film that received mixed reactions from fans and critics alike. Since then, Isaac has expressed conflicting views on his involvement with the franchise. In 2020, he jokingly suggested that he would only return if he needed “another house.” By 2022, his stance had softened, telling Variety that he was “open to anything” regarding a potential return.
Fans are now speculating that both Isaac and John Boyega could join Daisy Ridley in the upcoming Star Wars film centered on Rey, which is set 15 years after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The film will explore Rey’s efforts to rebuild the Jedi Order, leaving plenty of room for familiar faces to reappear. If Isaac is involved, an official announcement could happen during Star Wars Celebration 2025. After all, Ridley herself used her appearance at Star Wars Celebration 2023 to announce her return in a new Star Wars film.
With the event just a few months away, excitement continues to build. Star Wars Celebration 2025 will take place at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, from 18 to 20 April. Some tickets remain available, but interest is expected to grow as more details about the event emerge.
