‘Now You See Me: Now You Don’t’ Bands New Magicians And Original Four Horsemen Together

Eight magicians going up against one of the world’s most dangerous criminals? Nothing a sleight of hand and some action can’t fix, according to Jesse Eisenberg’s thieving troupe in Now You See Me: Now You Don’t.

Apart from heralding the return of the Four Horsemen from the previous two entries, the trailer for Lionsgate’s threequel introduces three new additions to the crew: Ariana Greenblatt (Barbie, Ahsoka), Dominic Sessa (The Holdovers), and Justice Smith (Detective Pikachu, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves). Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl, Wheel of Time) is set to make her debut as the new villain.

Alongside Eisenberg’s J. Daniel “Danny” Atlas, Woody Harrelson’s Merritt McKinney, Dave Franco’s Jack Wilder, and Isla Fisher’s Henley Reeves, the cross-generation group will pull off a high-stakes diamond heist involving “mind-melding twists, turns, surprises, and magic unlike anything ever captured on film”, per the synopsis. Also reprising their roles are Mark Ruffalo as Dylan Rhodes and Morgan Freeman as Thaddeus Bradley.

Released in 2013, the first Now You See Me movie saw the original quartet execute a daring heist using their wits and magician skills. The 2016 sequel added Ruffalo as an FBI agent, with Lizzy Caplan’s new illusionist replacing Fisher, who’s now back in action. A fourth entry is in the early stages of development, overseen by Lionsgate’s Meredith Wieck and with returning producer Bobby Cohen aboard.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, directed by Ruben Fleischer, heads to theatres on 14 November.
