Six years after the first NieR: Automata game, Nier series producer Yosuke Saito (Dragon Quest XI, Babylon’s Fall) has confirmed that while “[director] Yoko Taro (SINoALICE, Voice of Cards series) is alive”, more Nier games will be on their way.
First published in a Japanese interview with 4Gamer.net, and shared by X / Twitter user Genki, Saito mentioned that both he and Taro are working on a “separate” project, and hope to share further details about it with fans next year.
This news first emerged from a presentation at Korean video game show G-STAR 2023 titled “a meeting to talk incessantly about the production of NieR: Automata”. Saito not only hinted at the future roadmap for the much-loved series, but also discussed the development process of the 2017 Nier game.
While nothing is set in stone, it’s exciting news to hear that neither Saito nor Taro have concluded with the Nier series.
