Miles Morales Debuts In New Upcoming Spider-Man Animated Movie

The Spider-Man franchise is, and continues, to be one of the more successful works in the cinematic world. From Tobey Maguire to more recent Tom Holland, the series has seen the passing of the mantle one too many times over the past few years, and yet still manages to retain the fans’ love for everything that’s Spider-Man.

Now, another new addition is about to be welcomed into the family. Unlike the other Spider-Man movies, it will instead be hitting the silver screen in full animation style next Christmas (2018), with Miles Morales serving as the main protagonist.

Titled Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse, the story looks to feature more than just one Spider-Man, which means that fans can expect some Peter Parker and Miles interactive moments, as well as with other Spideys too.

It is a refreshing twist from the usual Spider-Man series that we have grown to love. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who are also the brains behind The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street, see the project as an attempt to “bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that’s the first of its kind.”

And if the trailer is any indication, Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse does indeed boast beautiful visuals. Right off the bat, viewers are greeted to a myriad of vibrant colours, which then bleeds out to form a whimsical, sci-fi-esque picture of the surroundings. Add in a dash of slick movements, intermittent flashes of comic book panels, and interesting camera angles, and you have an impressive trailer on your hands.

Miles sure looks like he’s having a swinging good time, and hopefully that will be the case for audiences in 2018 as well.
