Insomniac Games’ upcoming PS5 exclusive, Marvel’s Wolverine, has dropped a new cinematic trailer ahead of its release on 15 September 2026, offering a first look at yet another one of its villains, Lady Deathstrike, alongside teasing a team-up between Logan and his long-time archenemy, Sabretooth.
Titled “Ain’t No Hero”, the cinematic trailer kicks off with a broody voice-over from Logan as he explains how he has “lived long enough” that everything has started to blur together, all while scenes of him slaughtering all manner of baddies play out, with Wolverine clutching a photograph of him and a red-haired woman, which seems to be his wife, or possibly Jean Grey, who was introduced in the game’s State of Play trailer.
The scene then cuts to Logan being pinned down by goons in the snow, only to be rescued by Sabretooth, the other iconic clawed mutant, and long-time archenemy of Wolverine. It seems that the two will be teaming up this time around, with the game possibly introducing the turning point in the pair’s relationship that pits them against each other.
If you thought having two clawed mutants in Marvel’s Wolverine was more than enough, think again, as the trailer then introduces Lady Deathstrike, another iconic X-Men supervillain whose adamantium claws and healing abilities rival those of Wolverine. Fans have long anticipated her appearance in the game, since she is known for butting heads with the titular anti-hero, and this trailer offers a first look at her new outfit and claws, with the latter appearing shorter than those of her portrayals in the comics and films, making them more akin to those of Sabretooth.

Marvel’s Wolverine will claw its way to the PS5 on 15 September 2026. Additionally, Insomniac Games had previously confirmed that the game’s physical edition will come with an actual disc in the box, contrary to PlayStation’s controversial move to kill physical game discs by 2028, sparking mass support from fans and an influx of humorous comments showing support while simultaneously dissing PlayStation and Rockstar Games, which previously dropped the news that GTA 6 would ship in an empty box with a digital code.
