As Magic: The Gathering gears up for a new tabletop journey with Final Fantasy this June, Wizards of the Coast is fuelling the hype by revealing a slew of new cards and a first look at set-exclusive features.

This fresh look comes after the reveal of four Commander cards, featuring Final Fantasy VII‘s Cloud, Y’shtola (FFXIV), Tidus (FFX) and Terra (FFVI). Fans can expect more familiar faces in the mix, including Yuffie, Cecil, Sephiroth, and more, alongside design variations of these characters and franchise staples like the Moogle, Cactuar, and Chocobo.
New Food token art and double-faced cards were also showcased, with the special Summons mechanic introducing the card game’s first-ever Saga creatures that can be called upon to the battlefield for extra assistance, mirroring the ability to do so in Square Enix’s beloved series of JRPGs.
Here’s a quick look at some of the newly unveiled cards (the official website has more of them):

The Magic: The Gathering’s Final Fantasy set will feature over 100 legendary creature cards, with some of its 55 legendary borderless cards illustrated by fan-favourite artists across franchise history. Yoshitaka Amano, a frequent collaborator on the long-running title, is contributing special artwork for the crossover effort, which releases on 13 June. The Standard set is fully draftable, set to launch alongside four preconstructed Commander decks and a Collector’s Edition.
