LEGO ‘Jaws’ Set Surfaces With Fishing Boat And Iconic Giant Shark

Sometimes, dreams do come true. LEGO fan designer Jonny Campbell (aka Diving Faces) is headed for a deep dive with his creation of a Jaws-inspired set, becoming one of the two latest enthusiasts to receive an official release for their ideas.

The fan-submitted LEGO Ideas design will feature the iconic giant shark from Steven Spielberg’s classic, as well as the Orca fishing boat that Chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider), Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss), and Quint (Robert Shaw) set out on to the open waters.

While the final build has yet to be finalised, the concept art offers a good idea of what to expect. There are wires leading up to the mast, and the ship’s interior are lined with various sharking and fishing equipment, as well as the unmistakable yellow barrels. The shark’s stature also rivals the size of the Orca here, with its articulate jaw bringing even more of a bite. Rounding out the set are three mini-figures of Brody, Hooper, and Quint.

No release date or pricing information for the Jaws LEGO creation has been announced, but it isn’t the only fan project currently in the works — The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus, Dungeons & Dragons, The Orient Express, and five other ideas have all gotten preview builds in the same video announcing Campell’s win.

Released in 1975, Jaws was based on the 1974 novel by Peter Benchley and is widely considered to be one of the best movies of all time. It follows Brody as he attempts to protect the residents and tourists of Amity Island by shutting down the beaches, after a young woman died to a deadly shark attack.
