Latest ‘Arcane Season 2’ Visual Teases More Doomed Siblings Dynamic To Come

The first season of Fortiche Production’s Arcane proved adept at tugging heartstrings, and its highly-anticipated sequel will naturally follow in the same vein. Following the release of a first-look trailer for Arcane Season 2, Netflix and Riot Games have released a new key visual that further reinforces the ‘doomed siblings’ trope (on the right below).

Featuring protagonists Jinx and Vi, it paints a clever reversal of the official poster for the first season, where the former is wrapped around her sister’s arm instead. This drop comes ahead of the show’s release in November, which hints at the debut of fan-favorite villain Warwick.

More information about Arcane Season 2 is expected to surface during the Studio Focus session (11 June) at Annecy International Animation Film Festival, held from 10 to 14 June in the French town. However, Ella Purnell (Fallout, Yellowjackets), who voices Jinx in the animated show, has given fans an idea of what’s to come, including a “devastating finale”.

“Oh man, I’m trying to remember [Season 1] because it was over two years ago,” she said when asked on what fans can expect from the next part of Vi and Jinx’s story (via TechRadar). “I actually just went back into the studio to complete some ADR (automated dialog replacement) for the season 2 finale – and I cried. So, I think other people will cry, too. It’s devastating, and nobody will feel good after watching it.”

The pilot season of Arcane aired in three parts in 2021. The animated series is set in the past and retells the origin stories of several LoL characters from Piltover and Zaun, with Jayce, Victor, Caitlyn, and Ekko serving as major characters alongside Vi and Jinx. It garnered wide acclaim upon release, and would go on to make history by becoming the first streaming series to win an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program.

Fortiche is returning as the animation production company for Season 2. Purnell, Hailee Steinfeld (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Hawkeye), and Katie Leung (Annika,The Peripheral) are set to reprise their roles as Jinx, Vi, and Caitlyn respectively.
