After Larian Studios showed up at E3 2019 to talk about a little something called Baldur’s Gate 3, we haven’t heard from them since regarding the highly-anticipated sequel to one of the most iconic RPGs of all time.
Well, as it turns out, they’ll be back with a new BG3 developer update on February 27, 2020. This update also came with a new teaser video on Larian’s Twitter page, which hints at what we could expect in the new update.
From the teaser, it looks as though BG3 will feature CGI models that are powered by both motion capture and facial capture technologies, which indicate a huge step-up in the visual department compared to 2001’s Baldur’s Gate 2.
Also, the soundtrack looks to be recorded with a live orchestra, which is a nice callback to the original games’ musical development.
But in terms of gameplay features, story and characters, it looks like we’ll have to wait a couple more weeks for Larian Studios to lift the lid.
Larian Studios has yet to announce a release date for Baldur’s Gate 3.
