Krafton’s life simulation game inZOI, competitor to Electronic Arts and Maxis’ The Sims franchise, is off to a strong start since its release on PC via Steam Early Access on 28 March, surpassing one million copies sold within a week.
This milestone was announced via developer inZOI studio’s social media channels, where it also thanked players for their “excitement, creations, feedback, content and support”. Content creation and sharing are both a major focus of the title, with its in-game sharing platform Canvas receiving over a million users on launch and almost 500,000 pieces of content uploaded.

inZOI currently holds a “very positive” rating score on Steam, with 83% of its 14,540 user reviews being positive. In terms of global sales, the game also currently ranks fifth on the platform, surpassing larger titles like Monster Hunter Wilds and Red Dead Redemption 2. Due to how the game encourages players to show off their creations online, the title also saw immense popularity on streaming platform Twitch, gaining an all-time peak of 175,000 concurrent viewers.
Amidst its massive launch, the game has seen its fair share of issues, notably related to bugs, glitches and other issues arising from its early state, such as an unintentional bug which allowed players to run over children, which Krafton has since fixed with its latest patch, stating that they are “strengthening internal review processes to prevent similar incidents in the future”.

Looking towards the future, Krafton also stated that future updates will introduce new content, including mod support and new cities, with all updates and DLC being free until the game’s full release, which, according to its Steam page, will be sometime in April next year. To ensure transparency, a roadmap for the game is also planned, which will outline upcoming improvements and features to provide players with a better sense of the game’s development.
inZOI is now available on PC via Steam Early Access.
