Jurassic World: Dominion Delayed One Year, Till 2022

You can now add Jurassic World: Dominion to the list of delayed blockbusters. What could have been one of the biggest releases in summer 2021 has now been pushed to 10 June 2022.

Universal’s choice to push the film a year later than its initial date is all to safeguard its big and lucrative tentpole, as fans have waited over 20 months to catch dinosaurs on the big screens again. Jurassic World: Dominion will also see the long-awaited reunion of Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum who were the 1993 blockbuster’s original cast members.

Director Colin Trevorrow took to Twitter to share the first teaser poster for the film. The poster features the Jurassic franchise logo encased in amber – certainly another throwback to the 1993 film.

“For the past three months, I’ve worked with an extraordinary cast and crew on a film we can’t wait to share with the world. Even though we’ll have to wait a bit longer, it will all be worth it. Let’s stay healthy and take care of each other until then.” wrote Trevorrow.

Jurassic World: Dominion stopped filming in March due to the pandemic but was one of the first major movies to resume production. Intense measures were taken to keep the production set virus-free and safe.

Jurassic World: Dominion is slated to release 10 June 2022 and stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, B.D. Wong, Omar Sy, Scott Haze, Dichen Lachman, Mamoudou Athie, Daniella Pineda, Campbell Scott and DeWanda Wise.
