Jake Gyllenhaal And Conor McGregor Kick Ass In ‘Road House’ Remake Trailer

90’s kids might remember Road House, one of those ‘so bad it’s good’ movies that was the talk of the town. The Road House remake released its first trailer, which shows off Jake Gyllenhaal (Spider-Man: Far From Home ) as protagonist Elwood Dalton facing off against UFC fighter Conor McGregor’s antagonist Knox. This will also be McGregor’s acting debut.

Road House (2024) follows an ex-UFC middleweight fighter who ends up working at a rowdy bar in the Florida Keys where things are not as they seem, with turf wars and more action. From the trailer, seems to stay faithful to the original’s storyline.

Like its 1989 predecessor, there’s been plenty of talk surrounding the film even before its release, after director Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow) announced he would not be attending its premiere at the SXSW film festival because the film would not have a theatrical release, with Amazon going back on its word.

“I can tell you what they then did to me and my film Road House, which is the opposite of what they promised when they (Amazon) took over MGM,” said Liman in an interview with Deadline.

The Road House remake releases 21 March 2024 on Amazon Prime.
