Spending cash on merchandise and the like is the bread and butter of being in a community, so it’s certainly a disappointment when overseas products don’t come with the international shipping option. Tokusatsu fans, in particular, would understand the feeling well, and Amazon Japan has taken it upon themselves to finally open up the orders for Bandai-produced toys to the whole world.
The list includes long-time favourites such as Gundam, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai and Ultraman, and is only applicable to items shipped from Amazon themselves, which means secondary sellers, or the equivalent thereof, are not eligible for international shipping.
With more Japanese companies expanding to the overseas shipping markets, this is indeed a cause for celebration. It also serves as a testament to how much Amazon Japan has grown since its days of shipping media restricted to solely novels, magazines, Blu-ray, DVD, and CDs.
Hopefully, the initiative from an industry giant would push Japan’s overseas shipping movement to greater heights in the near future.
